Why Fostering Matters
At HSCTX, adoption is about creating lifelong matches. But fostering is where that journey begins. Every pet in our care lives in a foster home instead of a shelter. This allows them to learn, heal, and grow in a supportive, real-life environment. By the time they meet their future family, they are confident, socialized, and ready to thrive.
Fostering gives pets the chance to shine and gives you the opportunity to save lives, even if you’re not ready to adopt.
If you’re curious about what to expect, start with our Fostering FAQs. Want to know why so many in our community choose to foster? Read Why Foster. Or take a look at the pets currently in need of foster homes by visiting Meet Our Pets.
