Adoption Process

Here’s how to bring home your new best friend — it’s easier than you think.

How to Adopt with HSCTX

At HSCTX, adoption is about creating lifelong matches. It is not just about connecting pets and people. It is about bringing hope and home together. Every pet in our care lives in a foster home rather than a shelter. That means they are learning, healing, and growing in a supportive, real-life environment. By the time they meet you, they are ready to shine.

Our adoption process is thoughtful and transparent. It focuses on making the right fit for your lifestyle and the pet’s long-term well-being. Whether you are just beginning to explore or already have your eye on a furry soulmate, we are here to guide you through every step.

Step 1

Submit Your Application

To get started, fill out our online adoption application. You will be asked a few questions about your home environment, the people living in your household, and any other animals currently in your care. Our goal is not to disqualify you. It’s about finding the best possible match for both the pet and the adopter.

Step 2

Meet Your Future Best Friend

After your application is approved, you’ll connect with the foster family to set up a meet and greet - a chance to spend time together and see if it’s a good match. If all goes well, you can begin a “paws and reflect” week to make sure your new friend fits comfortably into your home before finalizing the adoption.
