At the Humane Society of Central Texas (HSCTX), we believe every pet deserves a safe, loving home. As a nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Waco and McLennan County, our mission is to save lives, strengthen the human–animal bond, and support families through every stage of pet ownership.

We are a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and community partners working together to ensure that pets in need receive the care, compassion, and second chances they deserve. Our work is driven by the belief that pets are family — and that healthy, happy pets create stronger, happier communities.
What We Do
From pet adoptions and fostering to rehoming assistance and community outreach, HSCTX provides a wide range of services designed to keep pets and people together whenever possible. Our programs include:

Pet Adoptions – Matching dogs and cats with loving, forever homes.
