More about Dionysus
Hi! My name is Dionysus, but my friends call me NeNe. I’m a super sweet, fun, medium sized dog weighing about 40lbs. I am already potty trained and know basic commands.
Chewing is paws down my favorite hobby! I’m a toy connoisseur—squeaky chew toys are my favorite. My birthday is April 15th and my theme song is “Just a Girl” by No Doubt.
My foster mom says I’m the best girl, and the only thing I’m missing is “spatial awareness”…
whatever that means. I am a bit goofy sometimes, and I enjoy having plenty of room to spin and jump around.
When meeting new people, I can be a little shy and nervous, so I’m looking for someone patient and understanding who will give me ample time to settle in and build my confidence. Once I feel safe and comfortable, I’m incredibly affectionate and snuggly.
I’m ready to find a loving home where I can keep being my sweet, goofy self.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s included in the adoption fee?
What does pre-adopt mean?
What if the pet isn’t a good fit at home?
We want every match to succeed. We offer a “Paws & Reflect” trial week before signing our adoption agreement and paying any final fees. If things don’t work out, we ask that you return the pet to us so we can find the right next step – no judgment.
Can I meet the pet before applying?
How long does the adoption process take?
All of our adoptable pets are in foster homes, so meeting them depends on scheduling with their foster family. We’ll work with you to set up a meet-and-greet as soon as possible. Some pets may be available for pre-adoption while they finish medical care. Depending on the specific pet, they might go home with you early or stay with their foster until everything is finalized. Either way, we’ll guide you through the process!
What does it mean for a dog to be heartworm positive?
It means the dog has tested positive for heartworms, a treatable condition caused by parasites spread through mosquito bites. It’s not contagious to people or other pets, and we’ll cover the cost of treatment through our veterinary partners. These dogs can still live full, happy lives – and they need loving homes just like any other pup!
What does it mean for a cat to be FIV positive?
Does the pet have to be spayed/neutered?
Yes – all pets adopted through our program must be spayed or neutered. The only exception is for senior pets who, after veterinary evaluation, are determined to be medically unfit for surgery due to age or health concerns. Spaying and neutering is an important part of responsible rescue and helps us prevent future pet overpopulation. It can also reduce chances of certain cancers and behavioral challenges for your pet!
